Energy is Everything
Energy is in everything. If you reduce us down to our smallest components, we are energy. We are vibrating and putting off a vibrational frequency. The word “energy” is a translation of the Eastern words Chi (from Chinese), Ki (Japanese), and Prana (Indian). This energy is universal life-force energy and is the essence of your existence.
Our energy is our most precious resource, but we often don’t pay it much attention until we are out of balance, until our energy feels scattered, overwhelmed, flustered, and frustrated. The good news is that we can intentionally and very simply clear out any energy that is not serving our highest good, recharge, and then protect our energy. Below are three easy steps to reset.
1: Clear Your Energy Breath work is the simplest way to move and release energy from your body. Take a full belly, deep breath in through your nose. Try to sip in a little more air. Then, open mouth EXHALE LOUDLY, SIGH IT ALL OUT. Repeat two more times. Seal your lips and breath in and out of your nose consciously. Inhale for a count of 4. Exhale for a count of 4. Do this until you feel yourself begin to ground and calm your nervous system.
2: Re-charge Your Energy Take a class. If you have zero motivation to move your body, pick something short, 5-10 minutes. Whether it is a Microformer or a Yoga class, be intentional in connecting your breath to your movement. Stay focused on full, steady breaths, in and out, as you move your body. As you begin to connect your breath to movement, your mind will quiet, and you will begin to feel your energy flow a bit more freely. By the end of class, you will feel a noticeable shift.
3: Protect Your Energy At the end of your workout, lie down or find a comfortable seat and call in the light. Visualize and feel the light entering through the crown of your head and filling your entire body. Take your time. Give the light a color. Once your body is filled to the brim with this light, imagine that same light surrounding you like a cocoon. At the edge of this cocoon of light is an exterior boundary, a shiny glass-like wall. This boundary is the edge of your aura and holds in your light, thus protecting your energy.
Next time you feel like you are at your wits-end, give these steps a try and note how you feel. If you’re unable to do all three steps, do whatever you have time for. Your energy is a vital resource that allows you to be your true, authentic self. How you feel affects how you show up in the world. It is my hope that these simple steps help you maintain your precious, beautiful, life-force energy.
